Dir, Transportation Job at Performance Foodservice
The Director of Transportation position will perform the following duties:
- Oversees the driver fleet in regard to recruiting, safety and compliance, training and ensuring proper management of the department.
- Includes involvement with the driver selection and orientation process, handling employee relations issues including disciplinary action, monitoring DOT and OSHA compliance,
- Manages Transportation Supervisors and monitors the routing process to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Oversees Driver training programs.
- Complies and educates Drivers in regards to D.O.T. regulations.
- Conducts Driver meetings.
- Develops and monitors safety and incentive programs.
- Must possess a high degree of emotional intelligence, able to work effectively with all levels of management, with an emphasis on positive associate engagement.
- Conduct analysis of Transportation business processes to determine ways to increase efficiency, reduce expense, or improve customer satisfaction.
- Develop reports that monitor business performance.
- Create models to forecast business trends and performance, using various spreadsheets, charts & graphing solutions.
- Preparing budgets for the department to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Develop metrics to measure progress towards goals and objectives, such as identifying measures of customer satisfaction or employee productivity.
- Develop and execute plans for implementing new processes or training staff on new systems.

Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
4-6 years of Transportation experience, including in-depth knowledge of DOT regulations and experience with operations of computerized fleet management systems. Supervisory experience.
