Direct Support Staff (DSS) work in a direct care capacity in either a Residential or Day Program setting and is required to obtain and maintain all State agency mandated trainings and certifications as stipulated by Agency Policy and State regulations. DSS are regularly required to perform routine household and client care, including medical transfers, administering medications, follow physicians’ orders and to assist in supervising and transporting residential clients to community activities and Day programs. Current knowledge of and familiarity with adaptive equipment. High School diploma or equivalent and valid Driver License with a satisfactory driving record required. Experience or interest working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
