Director of Communications and Community Engagement
Location: Lakeshore Public Schools, Stevensville, MI 49127
Work Week: Part-time, not to exceed 20 hours per week. 12 months/ 190 days - flexibility to design days to be most productive and efficient
Job Description:
Community Relations
Develops and implements the District's digital voice to strengthen its image and branding- Works with District leadership to create and publish District reports and communications
- Gathers and publishes “stories” to strengthen the District image and branding
- Develops and implements information campaigns to engage the community and generate support for District initiatives
- Coordinates systems of communication within the administrative team
Media Relations and Marketing
Manages multimedia productions for marketing and events- Maintains District’s social media presence, capturing the spirit of the District through photos and creating videos
- Creates a climate of cooperation between the media and the District
- Promotes diversity through District communications
- Writes and distributes press releases
- Organizes proactive media relations and crisis communications
- Manages all District marketing activities
Other
Reports to the Superintendent- Provides training on customer service, marketing, and communications to staff
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, or related field
- Experience with School District communications and operations
- Experience with digital marketing, social media, video production, photography
- Ability to speak effectively to groups
- Able to work independently and within a team environment
- Organizational and time management skills
- Highly reliable, maintaining confidentiality within a team environment
