Director of Nursing

HCHC is a non-profit, federally qualified health center with a mission to create access to high-quality integrated health care and to promote well-being for individuals, families, and our communities. We provide medical, dental, behavioral health, eye care services, and community programs to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay.

Purpose: To organize and oversee all nursing operations in a collaborative and efficient manner with attention to quality standards and policies. The position includes administrative and clinical duties, working with providers, clinical and administrative staff, and patients.

Line of Responsibility: The Nurse Manager reports to the Chief Clinical and Community Services Officer (CCCSO).

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee nurse supervisors across all sites
  • In conjunction with nurse supervisors, ensure adequate nursing coverage across all sites
  • Coordinate with nurse supervisors to determine strengths and weaknesses in the department
  • Work with CCCSO to identify both short-term and long-term goals for the nursing department
  • Coordinate the recruitment, training, and onboarding of new nursing staff
  • Identify educational needs across the Health Center and work to ensure they are met
  • Clinical duties as described in Nurse Triage job description, including but not limited to: triage of patient calls and perform nursing duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and the Massachusetts Board of Nursing regulations
  • Lead the Health Center's COVID vaccination initiative (includes covid, flu, and pediatric vaccinations/immunizations)
  • Ensure appropriate vaccination reporting is completed
  • Will work collaboratively with local, state and national entities to coordinate efforts when required
  • Special projects as assigned

Requirements:

  • Experience as a nurse leader
  • Current RN/LPN license in MA
  • Current CPR certification


COVID Safety Measures:

All employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including the first booster dose. All staff are required to wear masks while on-site, unless in an isolated space or actively eating or drinking. All staff must complete a health attestation before entering any HCHC facility.
