Director, Planning & Governance Job at Hilton
Hilton’s Commercial Services organization is comprised of over 4,000 team members driving our sales, revenue management, call center, and analytics functions. These functions are the core of Hilton’s “commercial engine” and are key to Hilton’s ability to drive profitable growth.
What will I be doing?
As the Director of Planning & Governance, you will be part of a highly visible team responsible for supporting the Chief Commercial Officer and leadership team in aligning strategic objectives across the organization. You will drive the creation and execution of progress toward key priorities, and work with key partners to efficiently intake, plan, and prioritize work. You will also build and lead team engagement activities to keep the commercial team globally engaged, aligned, and invigorated in their work together. Your ability to study, refine and implement best-in-class strategies to optimize the portfolio planning function will be essential to your success! This role reports to and collaborates closely with the Vice President Planning & Governance.
More specifically, you will:
- Support VP in leading the annual planning process, ensuring alignment across the commercial organization on strategy, key focus areas, and budget investments.
- Partner with senior-level leaders to understand business progress and key achievements.
- Help shape the story around key strategic priority (KSP) progress and delivery.
- Design, lead, and execute global engagement, recognition, and alignment efforts, to ensure that our “one team” spirit remains strong.
- Be a strategic thought partner and leader of cross-functional initiatives, collaborating closely with various functions across Hilton.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with, and build coherence and coordination between, Senior leaders within Commercial Services and other Cross-Functional Partners whose work supports Commercial Services strategic alignment and outreach.

- Leadership of projects of various complexity and breadth - demonstrated experience diving into key business issues, assessing potential solutions, and providing critical recommendations
- Skill in managing strategic plans and tactical frameworks, with the ability to map out timelines and key deliverables for cross-functional teams, and execute against those timelines
- Ability to distill complicated information into concise storylines and demonstrate executive communication and presentation skills
- Ability to build relationships internally and externally, and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams
- Ability to adapt to different leadership styles, political environments, and changes in priorities
- Flexibility, sense of urgency, passion, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Capacity to independently and effectively prioritize and handle several projects at a time in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Comfort with ambiguity and broad scope, ability to learn new things quickly and get up to speed on new topics
To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:
- Ten (10) years of professional experience
- Experience leading simple and complex projects from design to execution
- Strong knowledge of Program Management principles, methodologies, and tools
- Travel 25%
It would be useful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
- Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- Four (4) years of work experience in corporate strategy, strategic planning, or program management
