Healthcare Outcomes Performance Company (HOPCo) is a vertically integrated musculoskeletal outcomes management company. HOPCo manages physician practices, hospital service lines, population health and value-based care programs, and musculoskeletal delivery networks.
As HOPCo continues to grow, we are looking for a Director of Surgery Scheduling in our Corporate Headquarters. Please see below for the functions and requirements for this position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Oversight of the daily operations of the Surgical, Procedure, and Test Scheduling departments to optimize performance and quality levels while ensuring the most efficient use of resources.
- Monitor all aspects of scheduling and referral activity and initiate appropriate corrective measures as needed.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for designated scheduling areas; evaluate new systems and methods and recommend changes as necessary.
- Develops and manages processes to audit and monitor scheduling adherence, template, and block utilization.
- Monitor timeliness and effectiveness of department activities, ensuring that outstanding orders and accounts are worked within the agreed-upon limit and that the time to contact patients, vendors is within target.
- Monitor effectiveness of scheduling efforts to maintain template and block utilization.
- Monitor the performance of the team regularly to ensure metrics and standards are well within pre-established goals and objectives.
- Consolidate performance standard reports to monitor the progress of initiatives.
- Supervise and appraise the performance of staff on an ongoing basis, provide training and resources to ensure staff continues to develop skills and knowledge of job-related functions, and ensure training programs are relevant.
- Conduct regular meetings with the team, to ensure the implementation of Scheduling plans, programs, and projects strictly adhering to prescribed deadlines and schedules.
- Develop team performance measures and review and evaluate team performance regularly and during the annual performance review period.
- Research and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Works cohesively with Revenue Cycle leadership in trending/identifying claim denials due to demographic, authorization, and insurance guideline errors
- Ensure that records are stored securely and handled in compliance with HIPPA privacy and security regulations.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance and managed care plans to ensure compliance with payer regulations, plan documents, as well as billing compliance with Federal and State law.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business or other related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
EXPERIENCE
- 10 years of surgery scheduling or operational experience preferred
- 5 years of experience in a leadership position preferred
