Division Director Job at Holy Cross Services

Holy Cross Services Saginaw, MI 48609

From $87,000 a year

About us

75 years ago, Holy Cross Services (HCS) was founded to meet the needs of Michigan’s children with nowhere else to turn.

Over the years, as the needs of children and families changed, as we learned more about healing and social justice, and as more communities requested our partnership, HCS’s services morphed into the statewide wraparound supports we provide today.

HCS specializes in empowerment and trauma recovery for children and families engaged in the child welfare system and supporting our neighbors to end their episodes of homelessness. Although these areas of service have significant intersection, we operate our programs through three functional arms:

  • Division of Family-Based Care and Youth Transition
  • Division of Residential Care and Family Healing
  • Division of Housing and Community Advocacy

Our Vision

We envision a future where family and home are certainties for everyone.

Our Mission

Our Mission is to bring hope, promote change, and help people live free, healthy, and productive lives.

OUR CORE VALUES

SAFETY

Physical Safety
The people we serve, and many of our coworkers, have hurt before they came to us. We work hard to ensure people will not hurt in our care.

Felt Safety
We create an environment where the people we serve and our coworkers feel safe from physical and psychological harm.

SHARED POWER

Meaningful Engagement
We recognize and actively counter the complex power dynamics within our work. We meaningfully engage the people we serve and our coworkers in decision-making.

Equity
We actively identify and counter inequities within our organization and externally in our communities. We recognize inaction perpetuates racism, sexism, ableism, and other forms of discrimination.

Advocacy
We are not the Voice of the Voiceless: the people we serve and our coworkers have their own voices. We amplify one another so that decision-makers hear us and act. We see diversity of perspectives as a strength.

NURTURE

Strengths
We all want to succeed, to be appreciated, and to be seen by others as “good.” We honor that need in ourselves, in our colleagues, and in the people we serve.

Connection
Relationship – trust – is at the core of all we do, and it is the first step we take. We cannot correct before we connect.

Growth
We continuously strive to improve and actively pursue personal growth. We hold ourselves, our coworkers, and the people we serve accountable, even when accountability feels difficult.

Personal Wellness
We care for ourselves and for our team. We value personal wellness as a necessary component to our service. We model the positive family nurturing we support our program participants to achieve.

PURPOSE

Intentionality
No “checking the box” – we act with intention. Our words, interventions, relationships, and strategies have a deliberate, positive purpose.

Outcomes
We have clear goals and benchmarks that signify quality, not just contract compliance. We see the bigger picture and strive to continuously improve our practice.

Stewardship
Our work necessitates and values partnership with community members, including funders. We responsibly honor the resources they give us, just as we honor their shared commitment to the people we serve.
