Overview:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Accepts donations on behalf of Goodwill and sorts donations at an assigned Storefront Donation Center. Provides excellent customer service to all customers/donors.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions Statement(s):
- Accepts donations according to company guidelines found in the Standalone and Storefront Donation Attendant Training Manual. This includes providing excellent customer service to donors by greeting, assisting with accepting donations, and accurately completing donation receipts. When necessary, politely refuses and refers donors to other locations and thanks each donor for every donation.
- Maintains the interior and the exterior of the site in a clean and organized manner.
- Sweeps perimeter of site, removes any afterhours donations, and picks up debris and trash in parking lot and sidewalk areas. If applicable, empties and maintains the cleanliness of the Unattended Donation Center at the site.
- Accurately sorts wares donations received at the site. Removes trash, sorts out “as- is” items (slightly damaged items), and divides/sorts by category all saleable items. Accurately labels and stores/packs items in the correct containers.
- Safely and accurately loads donations into bins/gaylords and organizes them inside of the storefront.
- Assists Truck Helpers and Truck Drivers loading donations into Goodwill trucks, as needed.
- Complies with all guidelines set forth in the Standalone and Storefront Donation Center Training Manual.
- Accurately completes all assigned daily administrative tasks in a timely manner. To include daily counts of all donors (including donations from the UDC’s), sorting and submitting donation receipts on a scheduled basis, daily production sheets and all daily tally sheets.
- Safeguards all donations and company property from damage and theft. Treats all donations and company property with respect and care.
- Communicates the following accurately and in a timely manner to the appropriate Supervisor or Coordinator; supply needs, unusual or out of the ordinary situations and any safety concerns.
- Accurately completes all sales transactions according to established procedures, if applicable.
- Maintains workstation according to Kaizen (continual improvement) philosophy. This includes the safe moving of product and trash bins to designated areas as needed.
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned or directed.
