POSITION: Teacher, Early Childhood Education (ECE) / Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE)

LOCATION: Preschool on Poze

PAY RANGE: $54,000 - $112,164 Annual Salary

CALENDAR: 190 Days

REPORTS TO: School Director

At Preschool on Poze, Mapleton’s youngest learners begin to build a strong foundation for their educational journey through caring, supportive, and expert early childhood teachers. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Colorado teaching license with an appropriate Early Childhood endorsement required.

  • Preferred Early Childhood Special Education endorsement
  • Additional endorsement in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education preferred, *or willingness to pursue endorsement or equivalent coursework. *
  • K-3 teachers must provide documentation of evidence-based literacy training per CDE requirements

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCES:
Willingness to take Project-Based Learning On-Line training prior to the start of the 2022-2023 school year

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants need to be highly motivated, flexible, dedicated, and creative to promote a positive climate and culture.

  • Willingness and ability to meet the diverse needs of learners (including special education, at-risk, linguistically, and culturally diverse) by adjusting curriculum and working cooperatively with other staff through inclusion.

  • Conduct parent teacher conferences, home visits and ongoing communication with parents.

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of early childhood education and developmentally appropriate practices.

  • Operate as the classroom lead teacher.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of a variety of screening and assessment tools appropriate for young children.

  • Be able to provide individualized instructional support for students.

  • Be able to lead and supervise one or more paraprofessionals in the classroom.

  • Commitments and competencies in using a variety of instructional deliveries are including, but limited to, cooperative learning, and interdisciplinary instructional thematic units.

  • Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to a standards-based system of designing and delivering instruction and assessment.

  • Will demonstrate a willingness to collaborate and solve problems with professional peers.

  • Designs instructional intervention that is clearly focused on the standards and assessments established by the District and the State.

  • Provides expanded opportunities and support for learner success.

  • Aligns all instruction with and designs instructional interventions with State and local standards and assessments.

  • If a licensed ECSE:

  • Demonstrate the ability to write and update IEP’s.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in evaluation to determine if special education services are needed and understand the Colorado preschool special education laws and regulations.

  • Willingness to participate in mandatory training and staff development/workshops

NOTE:Preschool teachers are hired and assigned to schools and programs based on the level and type of student needs. Staff members may be reassigned in accordance with applicable law and policy, when any of the following occur: program modification, enrollment decline, or change in level and/or type of student needs.
