Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following tasks: Lay out, and perform preventive maintenance and work activities such as installation of transmission lines for electrical and telecommunication equipment; assemble, install and repair electric lights, motors, heaters, generators, transformers, switchboards and other electrical apparatus; troubleshoot electrical systems, including telephone and paging equipment; operate electrical equipment; prepare job cost estimates and make rough sketches. Lead the work of skilled and unskilled staff (i.e., Apprentices, Training & Development candidates, and Lateral Transfers) and inmates as assigned. Respond to emergency calls to work (callbacks). Perform other duties as required.
