Bilingual Family and Community Engagement Partnership Coordinator
8 hours per day, 12 months per year
Bilingual Required – English/Spanish

Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree and four (4) years of substantive demonstrated leadership experience working in a school/community setting with program and/or community involvement. Education may be substituted one for one for related working experience
- Experience working with diverse, socio-economic populations
- Experience with educational systems; second language acquisition and bilingual literacy
- Strong work management skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments and the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Demonstrated ability working collaboratively and demonstrated experience building effective teams in a dynamic work environment
- Excellent cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills with individuals of all ages
- Highly detailed and organized in work
- Strong and effective marketing skills
- Proficiency working in a PC platform, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google
- Experience in supporting Dual Language programs
- Experience corresponding and communicating (written and oral) in both English and Spanish
Other Requirements:
- Valid driver's license
- Regular attendance to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position to achieve program requirements
- Ability to lift and move moderately sized objects up to 50 pounds
Essential Functions:
- Works in a flexible and cooperative manner

- Serves as a positive role model for students, and practice the behaviors that are expected of our students
- Forge alliances with community and business partners that provide services and support to the school, Multilingual students and families
- Collaborate with district department to facilitate access to district resources/programs/activities to promote student achievement and parent involvement of Multilingual students and families across the district per TBIP guidelines and requirements
- Collaborate with Community Schools department to promote equity and to optimize the student achievement and parent involvement of Multilingual Families across the district
- Perform administrative tasks, including organizing and facilitating meetings, participating in Councils at Family/Community Resource Centers, and disseminating program information, data collection and writing and submitting reports
- Work closely with district-wide on-site Resource Center Coordinators to promote social services, academic and recreational programs for Multilingual students, families and the community
- Establish and maintain partnerships with neighborhoods, public agencies, non-profit groups between the school to enhance support for Multilingual children and families and to increase community involvement in school activities
- Create episodes and conduct VPS en Español
- Manage public relations with the community
- Serve as building liaison to organized parent groups (e.g., PTA, PTo, PTSA)
- Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

Salary range:
New employees will start at the minimum hourly rate in the salary range. However, employees who have verified prior years of service in a similar occupational status from other Washington School Districts or Education School Districts, may receive experience credit towards salary placement. Retirement:

Time Off:
Vancouver Public Schools offers paid holidays and paid time off, including but not limited to, sick, vacation, personal, and bereavement leave.
- Sick Leave: 8 hours per month (part-time employee accrual will be proportionate to their FTE).
- Personal Leave: 3 days per school year
- Twelve (12) month full-time Pro Tech employees are eligible to accrue ten (10) days vacation at one (1) - five (5) years of service. The accrual days are incrementally improved by five (5) days at the completion of five (5), eleven (11) and twenty (20) consecutive years of service respectively.
