Engine I-Level Backshop Technician 4 Job at LOCKHEED MARTIN CORPORATION
This position is with the Iraq F-16 CLS team at Erbil and Balad Air Base, Iraq, with a possibility of working from Home of Record.
Engine Backshop Technician – In addition to the technician responsibilities listed below, the successful candidate will be expected to work with on-site Pratt Whitney representatives, shop setup activities, engine data management, engine test cell operator, and asset accountability. The candidate will also be expected to manage inventory, coordinate scheduled maintenance, maintain and properly store all Engine BackShop related assets to include trailers.
Engine BackShop technician: Services, inspects, troubleshoots, collects engine data and repairs engines to ensure airworthiness. Determines feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Work module repairs as required. Shall provide technical guidance and OJT to customer technicians. Perform Engine Phase maintenance when required.
Assignment will consist of site set-up activities in Iraq, to include but not limited to light to medium construction activities such as assembling warehouse shelving and furniture in all areas of the maintenance complex. Candidates must be willing and able to participate in all set-up activities, assist with receiving and storing supplies and support equipment. Environmental/weather conditions can be extreme during different seasons. Site is a secure compound which team members will be confined to. Flexibility, a positive attitude and excellent people skills are a must.
Candidate will be required to train, advise and assist the IQAF customer on any and all parts of position described above. Will work directly for the hiring manager with other duties assigned at managers discretion.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS/INFO: At the discretion of the Component Maintenance Manager, the candidate might be expected to augment flight line engine personnel to troubleshoot, isolate, and repair engine malfunctions on the aircraft. Candidate must be a high school graduate or have completed an equivalent program. Documented qualifications in related maintenance fields. Must have strong communications and interpersonal skills. Must read, write and speak English fluently. Regularly required to lift/carry up to 50 pounds, perform repetitive movements, and perform work from ground level to overhead. This position requires frequent standing for long periods, walking, stooping, kneeling, squatting, crawling, and twisting.
SECURITY Clearance REQUIRED. Must have an Interim Secret Security Clearance prior to start date AND must maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Candidates offered a position must complete a pre-employment medical exam that is designed to ensure deployment to the worksite in Iraq, which is located in an austere environment with very limited access to medical care, does not pose a direct threat. Candidate must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 to work and travel into Iraq.
Basic Qualifications:
Candidate must have held a USAF skill level 7 (or equivalent) in their career field.
Candidate must have a minimum of 4 years documented experience on the F-16 Aircraft /systems
Perform routine system troubleshooting, installation and repair.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access)
Desired Skills:
Previous experience working with international customers.
Previous experience working in Test Cell section
Excellent customer support skills, communication skills, and the ability to foster external relationships.
Previous experience setting up Engine BackShop work stations and shops.
