Position Info
An Engineering Manager maintains a high morale in engineering; teaches engineering staff how to maintain and repair equipment; solicits suggestions or input from other members of the engineering team; coaches or counsels team members effectively; staff consistently achieves standards for the department; discusses problems with employees as they come up; understands the hotel’s human resources policies and procedures; treats all employees fairly; uses appropriate staffing levels for work demand; promotes hotel service standards and policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Read, write, speak and understand English
- Hotel, institutional, HVAC systems experience of 3-4 years preferred
- Refrigeration, HVAC certification or journeyman level experience
- Previous management or supervisory experience of 3-5 years
- At least one of the following certifications preferred: HVAC certification, Licensed Electrician, Licensed Plumber
- Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, emergency, preventative maintenance systems and all related disciplines
- Basic computer skills, administrative skills
- Meet minimum age requirement of jurisdiction
- Ability to communicate effectively with public and other employees
- Valid driver’s license preferred
