The Rancho Murieta Country Club is seeking experienced persons for the position of Full-Time Entry Level Apprentice Golf Course Greenskeeper.

Rancho Murieta Country Club is a 36-hole private Golf and Tennis Club located near Sacramento, California and is one of the top-rated courses in the area. The club has hosted US amateur qualifying as well as US Senior Open qualifying.

JOB SUMMARY (Essential Functions):

Perform routine manual labor, involved in golf course maintenance. Operate small hand-powered equipment. Each Bunker Worker may be assigned responsibility for care and maintenance of several designated holes on the golf course and does related work as required. Working knowledge of and the ability to use hand tools. Physical strength, stamina and agility to perform essential job functions. Ability to follow oral and written directions from supervisors including foreman. Possession of a valid driver’s license.

JOB TASKS (Additional Responsibilities):

• Learn to operate walk behind mowers on the greens and collars, string trimmers to trim grass around greens, tees, sand bunkers, trees, fence lines, banks and hillsides; edge cart paths; edges, rakes and maintains sand bunkers.
• Learn to set tee markers and cups on greens daily; maintain ball washers; replaces tee towels and flags when needed; removes trash and debris; sands and seeds tee and drop area divots; and clean flower beds.
• Learn to maintain fuel and fluid levels for all equipment used on a daily basis; reports equipment problems or failure to the equipment manager immediately.
• Learn to refuel and wash equipment after each use and return it to designated location at the maintenance facility.
• Learn to hand water greens, tees, and fairways
• Learn to maintain cart traffic control with the use of ropes and stakes and cart directional signs and how to replace worn ropes and lost ropes.
• Assists in project work; aerification, assist in construction of greens, tees and fairways, learn to prepare soil for laying sod or seeding.
• Help to install walks and paths using decomposed granite, gravel and asphalt mixes; excavates and back-fills ditches and trenches with hand tools.
• Performs other duties as directed by their supervisor.
