Environmental Scientist – Competitive Salary – Andover, MA

The Role

Do you possess a degree in geology, civil engineering or other related STEM education and background? Are you looking for a position in an expanding company and would like to learn from a seasoned Licensed Site Professional (LSP)? If that's the case, we're looking for you!

We are interviewing for a skilled Environmental Scientist to join our team. You will be responsible for working on all stages of our investigations, including but not limited to, sample collection, data recording, lab sample preparation, lab data interpretation, and table and report preparation for soil, water, sediment, air, and vapor. You may also be observing excavations for contaminated soil removal and assisting with subslab depressurization system installations and operation and maintenance of vapor control equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Historical investigation
• Subsurface investigation (test drilling and ground penetrating radar)
• Monitoring well development and sampling
• Surveying of sampling locations
• Subslab and indoor air sampling
• Excavation monitoring
• Preparation of laboratory samples and chains of custody
• Data and table manipulation and report writing

The Person

The key skills and qualities of the Environmental Scientist we are looking for are:

• Previous experience in similar role (compensation will vary with the number of years).
• Have a degree in geology, civil engineering or other related STEM education and background.
• Have ready access to a vehicle and be able to work outdoors in a variety of conditions.
• Familiarity with the Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP) is desired.
• Highly analytical mind, with exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
