POSITION OVERVIEW

The Right of Way (ROW) Environmental Specialist is responsible for supporting the programs for acquiring and retaining land rights and applicable permits for construction on our Transmission and Distribution projects. This role will report directly to the ROW Manager for Kiewit Power Delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the following as directed by the ROW Manager:
  • Controls Right of Way status and special conditions matrix for a project
  • Controls Permit status and special conditions matrix for a project
  • Communicates necessary scheduling and operational restrictions to project teams
  • Verifies compliance regarding and land and air agreements during operations
  • Ensures proper cost forecasting and budgeting for applicable scopes of work
  • Consults with estimate teams on ROW and Permitting costs and scheduling
  • Performs 3rd party audits of ROW process on other projects as needed
  • Ensures compliance with all Federal, State & Local laws and regulations regarding the Land Use and permitting process
  • Spends time on the project to grow and develop staff to ensure policies, procedures, and compliance are held to the companies' standards.
  • Develops and implements training modules for land use and access rights within the KPD space

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelors in environmental health, environmental engineering, environmental studies, or another related field preferred
  • 2 years' experience as an environmental coordinator/project coordinator in construction or related field preferred
  • Strong technical knowledge of environmental regulations
  • Basic understanding of the: FERC, SWPPP, SPCC, CWA, CAA, RCRA, CZMA

  • Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
  • Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
  • May work at various different locations and conditions may vary.
