This effort has been branded, ONE DOOR , the Y’s path to mental wellness.

The YMCA is seeking an individual with clinical expertise, innovative vision, and an entrepreneurial spirit who shares the passion to utilize the YMCA’s history, community reach, and experience to lead this transformational effort. As the organization’s first Executive Director of Mental Wellness, you will join the YMCA Senior Leadership team to elevate our Y’s efforts in this critical area. You’ll use your passion, commitment, and skills to broaden our scope in this space while ensuring our Y is as recognized for mental wellness as it is for physical fitness, early education, and recreation for years to come.

Our YMCA is committed to creating a long-term, sustainable, and recognized mental wellness department. As the Executive Director of Mental Wellness, you would be responsible for:

  • Building beneficial partnerships and collaborations through community engagement

  • Partnering with senior leadership to assess, align and augment current mental wellness programming offered to staff, members and program participants

  • Defining mental health priorities, setting best practices, establishing short and long-term goals toward an overall organizational vision

  • Training and educating current YMCA direct service staff to become additional resources to best address prevention and early identification of mental health challenges.

  • Developing and leading the implementation of programming to address their one mental health programming offered through the YMCA as well as referral systems for those in need of more clinical support.

  • Recruiting and overseeing the staff resources necessary to accomplish established outcomes.

  • Measure and monitor outputs and outcomes.

  • Assist advancement and development departments to continue to inspire continued philanthropic support for mental health programming.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in counseling or a closely related field from an accredited institution
  • Independent clinical licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • 3-5 years of post-graduate full-time clinical experience
  • Demonstrated competence in providing clinical services to diverse mental health needs
  • Experience with community mental health programming and a proven ability to innovate, and bring projects from vision to action and scale
  • A passion for working with minoritized and diverse populations
  • An understanding of navigating health insurance and social service networks
  • Experience with networking to build relationships with hospital systems including those specific to mental health support
  • Superior communication skills – both in writing and orally
  • Fluent in HIPPA regulations and able to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Must be competent in Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, and Word, with strong comfort and experience in managing, tracking, and analyzing data
