ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Express Care Manager is responsible for the successful day to day management and operations of Community Health’s two express care clinics. The manager facilitates efficient processes that will enable the clinics to carry out our mission of providing high quality care. She/he will collaborate with administrators and other stakeholders of the health care team to design, evaluate, and continually improve our patient care system and processes. In doing so, the manager will support our strategic plan and values.
FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
- Builds strong positive communication with providers and staff and works as a team to enhance the success of the practice.
- Develops strong inter-departmental teamwork between primary and express care to meet the needs of the patients and drive effective decision making and patient centered workflow processes.
- Identifies and implements opportunities to build employee morale and individual development and motivation.
- Collaborates with Human Resources to ensure policies are adhered to and communication of changes occurs on a timely basis.
- Selects and hires employee according to established guidelines. Monitors, coaches, develops, and evaluates performance of staff on an ongoing basis in accordance with applicable performance standards.
- Ensures that practice schedules allow for optimal patient access.
- Responsible for assuring customer/patient service needs are met. Monitor’s patient service feedback and contributes to the process of resolving complaints and service issues. Plans and initiates process improvement and cost reduction opportunities.
SKILLS REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS:
- Clinical degree in nursing, radiology or other discipline that enables understanding of medical terminology, clinical processes, and workflow.
- Two-five years of management experience in an outpatient healthcare setting; preferably in urgent care.
- Demonstrate excellence in problem solving, leadership, communication, fiscal responsibility, and teamwork.
- Prior urgent care management experience strongly preferred.
