POSITION SUMMARY
The Fabrication Specialist position assists in the fabrication of the equipment and products to support the requirements of Circon Environmental/STC operational units and works at the direction of the Transportation Operations Manager, Fabrication & Design Manager or the Director of Refinery Services; utilizes a variety of equipment, tools and machinery to fabricate a variety of metal products, equipment and specialized tools.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES*
Primary duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, procedures and acting in a safe manner at all times

• Safely perform all necessary tasks required to complete any fabrication projects that are designed by the Fabrication Engineer Design Manager to include welding, cutting, installation of hydraulic components, wiring, part fabrication and general assembly.
• Performs machine set-up, machining, welding set-up, welding, sheet metal fabrication and extrusion, tube bending and fabrication tasks.
• Assembles, repairs, modifies and installs various hydraulic pumps, motors, lines and fittings
• Applies routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements.
• Works on articles of moderate complexity using established drawings and requirements.
• Responsible for personal Safety, shop cleanliness, and filling out appropriate paperwork.
• Maintains the inventory in the storage containers, materials pad, and the shop floor parts rack
• Attend safety meetings
• Is “on call” as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Good communication skills
• Ability to work inside confined spaces such as tanks, Roberoller trailers, Dry Bulk trailers, rail cars and ISO Mix tanks.
• Must consistently practice proper safety skills.
• Must possess legible handwriting skills
• Ability to follow instructions and communicate appropriate information as necessary to effectively perform job duties
• Ability to operate forklift and other heavy equipment.
• Willing to work flexible work hours including 2nd and 3rd shift if required
• Welding experience of not less than 2 years.
• Knowledge of welding equipment and usage such as TIG, MIG, Stick, Oxygen/Acetylene torch.
• proper use of power tools and hand tools including but not limited to grinders, cut off wheels, metal saws, etc.
• Adequate math skills are a must.
• Machining experience a plus

• Able to perform general shop skills

• Requires standing, walking, carrying, stooping, crouching, sitting, grasping and reaching
• May require lifting, pulling and/or pushing up to 50 lbs
• Travel as required
