The Oregon Military Department is recruiting for 2 Facility Energy Technician 3’s. These are permanent full-time state positions located at the Adjutant General Installation’s division in Salem, and Portland Oregon.

What You Will be Doing
The Facility Energy Technician 3 Installs, maintains, repairs, and modifies large/complex heating systems (Includes boilers) ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC) systems and support equipment including mechanical systems, pneumatic control, and direct digital control systems in State and Federal supported facilities in compliance with relevant State, county, and local building codes, and manufacturer’s specifications and instructions. This position also provides assistance to semi-skilled and skilled State Maintenance workers as needed for facility maintenance and repair, facility rental administration, and general armory cleaning to National Guard facilities, in support of the Oregon Army National Guard, and the Operations Branch of the Oregon Military Department, and in compliance with State and Federal laws or regulations, policies, manuals, and procedures.
Working Conditions
Exposed to loud noises; works from ladders and various types of lifting devices from heights. Exposed to unsanitary conditions. Works in windy, cold, or inclement weather. Uses power tools; required to push, pull, and lift / carry up to 50 lbs. Required to travel using a state vehicle. Required to perform duties wearing PPE. Occasional work is required outside of normal duty hours to mitigate emergency situations. Required to bend, stoop, and stand for long periods of time.
What You Need to Qualify
Graduation from an accredited school (two-year program) in heating and air-conditioning. A copy of your certification
MUST be attached to your application.

Two years of experience installing, altering, calibrating, repairing, and assisting with programming large building computerized and mechanical control systems.

A Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) A copy of this license MUST be attached to your application.

Two years of experience installing, altering, calibrating, repairing, and assisting with programming large building computerized and mechanical control systems.

A Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) A copy of this license MUST be attached to your application.

Completion of a recognized HVAC/R apprenticeship program. A copy of your certification
MUST be attached to your application.

Two years of experience installing, altering, calibrating, repairing, and assisting with programming large building computerized and mechanical control systems.

Requested Skills / Special Qualifications
Experience with HVAC/R equipment and facility environmental control systems
Experience with computer programs relating to EMS Systems and DDC (Direct Digital Controls)
Experience complying with PPE and safety requirements
Experience in facility service and repairs
