Scope

Michter’s is seeking a Facility Technician at our distillery located at 2351 New Millennium Drive, Louisville, KY 40216. This will be an opportunity to become involved in the bourbon industry, one of Kentucky’s finest traditions. This position will report to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for maintaining the facility custodial needs and light maintenance in a safe and hygienic manner. The Facility Technician is to represent the Company in a professional manner and actively participate in a teamwork environment. The Facility Technician must demonstrate the ability to understand and physically interact with all aspects of the job. If necessary, the technician may be called upon to support other plant operations.

Primary Job Tasks and Responsibilities

· Adheres to all company policies regarding health and safety, environmental, and quality standards.

· Immediately reports all safety, environmental, and quality issues to the Maintenance Manager.

· Adhere and utilize PPE program when performing job duties with hazards (e.g., handling chemicals such as cleaning products.)

· Reports to the Maintenance Manager for daily communications and job assignments.

· Clean and maintain all work areas using best housekeeping practices.

· Ensure all facility interior/exterior walkways are free and clear of any debris or other hazards that would make passage unsafe.

· Monitor and clean facility floors as needed to ensure a safe working environment and safe passage.

· Daily removal of any debris found throughout the facility grounds.

· Restock disposable products, remove trash, and ensure all administration areas, breakrooms, and restrooms are always clean and presentable.

· Facility light maintenance such as painting, interior/exterior cleaning of the building, cleaning windows, appliances, etc.

· Flexibility to work evening and weekend events as needed to assist with maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.

· Operate forklift.

· Provide support in other departments as needed.

· Assist with the set up and cleaning needed for guest visits. This includes but not limited to moving tables and chairs, setting up, cleaning rooms, carrying boxes of supplies to appropriate areas.

· Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

· Minimum High School Diploma

· Individual must be able to read, write, and communicate in English with comprehension.

· Custodial experience preferred

· Physical requirements

o Individual must have the ability to physically perform job functions in all environments inside and outside. Environments may be extremely hot, cold, dusty, and loud.

o Perform job functions which may include lifting, bending, and crouching down.

o Individuals must be able to lift 40 lbs. on a continual basis and 60 lbs. as needed from the floor to shoulder height.

o Climb at least four flights of stairs consecutively and climb ladders.

To be eligible for this position, any offer of employment is contingent upon full vaccination against COVID-19 before the candidate’s assigned start date. “Full vaccination” is defined as more than 14 days after the second shot of the two-shot vaccine (Pfizer/ Moderna) or 14 days after a single shot of the single-shot vaccine (Johnson & Johnson/ Janssen).
