Position Summary
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, analytical, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Administrator of Family First Prevention Services. Subject to management approval, this position will direct and manage statewide program operations for the Family First Prevention Services Program, monitoring to ensure consistent, effective implementation of program services throughout all regions of the state. The position will also develop and establish the Department’s vision and strategy related to the program, including strategic roadmaps, program plans, and implementation schedules. Additionally, the position will review and analyze the effectiveness of Family First Prevention programs and operations and represent the Department at various Departmental, public, and private meetings. This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is interested in providing leadership of the Department’s Family First Prevention Services Program to ensure that innovative strategies and quality services are implemented throughout all regions of the state. Job Responsibilities
1. Serves as Administrator of Family First Prevention Services
2. Reviews and analyzes the effectiveness of Family First Prevention programs and operations
3. Represents the Department at various Departmental, public, and private meetings with regard to Family First Prevention Services
4. Serves as full line supervisor
5. Provides technical assistance and consultation to various committees and Department staff in the development of child welfare programs
6. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
Minimum Qualifications
1. Requires an MSW or master’s degree in a related human services field
2. Requires four years of administrative experience in a child welfare or social service organization
Preferred Qualifications (in order of significance)
1. 4 years of professional experience in the management of a large program involving multiple parties, sites, or teams in a child welfare or social service organization
2. 4 years of professional experience conducting results-oriented long-range planning activities and achieving demonstrable outcomes in a child welfare or social service organization
3. 3 years of professional experience in the development and implementation of new policies and procedures in a public or private organization
4. 3 years of professional experience conducting qualitative reviews in a public or private organization
5. 3 years of professional experience serving as a representative of a public or private organization

Candidates hired into a term position shall be appointed for a term of 4 years and are subject to a
