Job Title: Field Safety Specialist

Reports To: Safety Manager

Location: Office

General Purpose of Job:

The Field Safety Specialist will implement, manage, and monitor field safety programs, policies, and procedures that meet OSHA and other applicable requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

• Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
• Investigate accidents to identify causes or to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future.
• Inspect or evaluate workplace environments, equipment, or practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations.
• Conduct safety training or education programs and demonstrate the use of safety equipment.

Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of EHS standards, rules and regulations and ability and proficiency to apply them to construction, shop, and warehouse areas.
• Working knowledge of safe construction work practices and experience in conducting accident investigations.
• Ability to work in hot/cold environments and during inclement weather.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Education and Experience:

• Degree in Safety Management or related field and preferred 2-3 years of experience, or High School Diploma and 3-5 years of current safety experience required.
• OSHA 30-Hour certification or ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire.
• OSHA 500 or the ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Experience or advanced knowledge in 29 CFR 1910 and 29 CFR 1926 required.
• Experience in LOTO, fall protection, and electrical safety.
• Previous HVAC or Construction Experience preferred.
• Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.

Physical Requirements:

· All candidates for this position should be reasonably physically fit and capable of picking up a 60 lb. tool, piece of equipment or piece of material and moving it about either on a jobsite, at a vendor, our warehouse, etc.
