The Community Pharmacy of Lake City is hiring a full-time floating Pharmacy Technician. A CPhT is preferred but willing to train. Shifts are M-F from 8:30 AM- 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM - 5:30 PM. Our pharmacy technicians will earn competitive compensation. A High School Degree or GED required with understanding of mathematical calculations.

Responsibilities

Assisting Pharmacists in performing functions, skilled at the use of communication systems, knowledge of proper phone etiquette, providing high level customer service, obtaining and inputting accurate information from patients including personal and insurance information into data entry systems, and insurance billing. Technician will also aid in filling prescriptions by counting the correct number or filling the right amount of liquid as required, as well as, prepare and mix sterile preparations, unit dose, prescriptions and injectable medications. This position will also be responsible for point of sale transactions, charging functions, point of sale transactions, collecting proper payments, maintaining supplies in pharmacy and patient care areas (including checking in, pulling outdates, rotating stock, and inventory). Assists with maintaining cleanliness in department, guaranteeing sterility with appropriate measures.

Requirements

*Must be at least 18 years of age.

*Some experience in a pharmacy is preferred.

*Registration by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Tech (RPHT) within 30 days of accepting employment required.
*Certification as Pharmacy Technician (CPHT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Health-Career Association (NHA) within one year of starting employment required.

*Must be willing to comply with confidentiality and HIPAA laws.

*Must be willing to take online trainings to better understand HIPAA, Fraud, Waste and Abuse Prevention Training, and other Pharmacy employee protocol.

*Must be willing to work with a team.

*Promotes positive relations when interacting with patients, visitors, families, physicians, customers and co-workers.

*Some lifting will be necessary.

*Knowledge or willingness to train for using an iPad and pharmacy operating systems.

*Background check will be conducted.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.50 - $16.50 per hour
