Nexus-PATH is hiring a Foster Care Opertions Director who will support the mission and vision of Nexus Family Healing by providing direction and supervision to assigned programs of the agency and assists the Executive Director in the overall management of the programs. This role will ensure compliance with corporate policy, federal and state laws, licensing requirements, accreditation standards and generally accepted practices.

Primary responsibilities:
Oversight of program fiscal control, accountability, and fostering strong community relations

  • Works in collaboration with the agency leadership team to help build and promote and emulate organizational values, growth, and sustainability
  • Maintains a hands-on involvement in the day-to-day operations of the Foster Care/SIL Programs and assists the Executive Director in oversight and execution of programming of services provided
  • Participates and contributes to the budget development process and assumes responsibility for aligning work performed with the budget, within assigned departments
  • Manages staff resources and program revenues effectively and efficiently for the benefit of the agency while adhering to budget guidelines in all plans and operations
  • Provides leadership and direct involvement in partnership with ED in the development of new programs and requests for proposals
  • Supports the agency in the larger social work community and when assigned, serves as a liaison to community boards, programs and advisory committees that may generate support for the agency
  • In partnership with the ED, formulates long-range strategic plans for the agency in response to anticipated economic, technological, or marketing trends; modifies the agency’s strategic plan based on unforeseen situations such as changes in resources, technology, or policies and communicates these changes to leadership
  • Represents the agency in the absence of the Executive Director; manages internal and external challenges, opportunities, and inquiries

Evaluation of services & Nexus treatment philosophies

  • Supports the agency’s quality improvement (e.g., Referral Agent Satisfaction Surveys, Exit Interviews, and Quality Management Program) processes and procedures
  • Works collaboratively with ED to remain current on all contract requirements, accreditation, and licensing standards; provides direction and support to agency staff on interpretation of standards, requirements, and expectations
  • Provides input and implements approved contracts related to the agency’s business and ensures operational processes and procedures are in place and communicated to staff, to meet contractual obligations
  • Upholds and ensures compliance of utilization of service, electronic health record systems
  • Supports the oversight to the utilization review process ensuring proper documentation of services rendered; monitors the effectiveness of services provided, and the receipt of medical necessity and certificate of need
  • Ensures services are informed by relevant outcomes data and recent research on best or promising/emerging practices

Operational Leadership & Management

  • Provides oversight on workforce decisions regarding organizational structuring, employee engagement, and staff development
  • Works with team to ensure the environment of care is maintained with regard to safety of residents and staff; oversees the efficient management of projects and contracts
  • Assists with the development and supports internal systems to ensure an ethical, collaborative, and safe work environment

Development & enhancement of agency staff development programs and services

  • Supports and ensures a positive bridge between clinical, admission, finance, and HR ensuring policies and needs of each department are working collaboratively to meet the mission and budgetary goals of the agency
  • Maintains responsibility for the development and monitoring of admission and discharge criteria, investigating, and responding to problems related to referrals, intakes, and discharges
  • In collaboration with the training department, assures that a quality training program is developed, maintained, and implemented according to organizational standards, COA, state, and federal guidelines for programs within their scope

Participates in and supports the ongoing selection, evaluation, and development of staffStrategic Plan Implementation, communication & alignment

  • In collaboration with the CQI department, ensures quality improvement, risk management, and policy development committees are operational and productive to meet the agencies short- and long-term goals and objectives
  • Attends assigned leadership, administrative, and committee meetings; positively represents the agency, and supports the Nexus philosophy, treatment modalities and the agency’s goals and initiatives

Service policy & procedure maintenance

  • Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the agency’s policies and procedures related to personnel, risk management, treatment and service provision, and administrative functions
  • Designs and recommends new policies and procedures needed to ensure that the agency’s policies and procedures are updated, aligned with Joint Commission, organization, state, and federal regulations
  • Ensures assigned programs are compliant with all Nexus and agency policies and procedures, licensing, and regulatory requirements, and ensure that related manuals are current

Ensures confidentiality and integrity of all Nexus Family Healing proprietary information; complies with confidentiality regarding resident issues, background, and treatment; complies with Nexus policies involving privacy and confidentiality rules for residents and their families.Required Education and Licensure:

  • Master’s degree required, preferably in a clinical discipline or business management
  • Minimum of 3+ years of adolescent counseling and/or residential/ foster care experience required
  • Minimum of 3+ years supervisory experience required
  • Valid driver’s license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Nexus Home Office driving requirements

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience of adolescent counseling and/or residential/foster care
  • 3+ years supervisory and leadership experience

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
