General Purpose:
This position is responsible for supporting the Zoo’s marketing and communications strategy through the development of attractive, informative graphics, signs, video, and photo collateral that communicates the Zoo’s brand.
Essential Functions

• Develops attractive, informative visual concepts for Zoo marketing and promotional campaigns as well as mission-based conservation and educational communications
• Designs graphics for all platforms including print, publications, signs, digital graphics, and logo’ed merchandise
• Captures and edits photo and video content
• Maintains brand standards across all platforms and organizes design assets
• Assists with the design, production and placement of guest services and educational signage throughout the Zoo
• Performs other tasks and projects as assigned

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements: *

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field preferred.
• Minimum of three years’ graphic design experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite is required.
• Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and InDesign Acrobat is required.
• Bilingual (Spanish or Hmong communication skills a plus.)

• Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. The employee must convey detailed or important spoken information to others in individual and small group settings.
• Hand and finger dexterity sufficient for typing and other administrative tasks.
• The employee is regularly required to lift and/or carry up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 25 pounds.

• This position regularly works with others including Zoo executives and employees.
• The position primarily functions indoors, with frequent exposure to outdoor Zoo environments and external events.
• Occasional local travel may be required.
