Job Summary

Pittsburgh, PA | Fox Chapel

• Start Date: Mid-March, 2023
• Hours: 8 am - 4 pm, Monday - Friday; when dad is traveling, typically 6-8 weeks a year for 1-2 weeks at a time, they need the nanny to be flexible to work evenings/weekends/overnights. Schedule is known 2 months in advance.
• Hourly Rate: $22-27/hour
• Children: 4-year-old and 2-year-old
• Pets: Cat & Turtle
• Flu & COVID Shots Required
• Paid Vacation: One week paid vacation nanny's choice, one week paid family's choice, three sick/personal days, and all holidays

Responsibilities and Duties

• WHO/WHAT: What song does an ER doctor mom and rock star drummer dad pick to sing and dance to with their intelligent, four- and two-year-old boys? “All I Want for Christmas,” of course. And yes, year-round. Is that what you guessed? If you’re smiling because this sounds like a family you’d love to join then we want to meet you! And we really do mean “join” because you’re not taking a job - you’re merging with a loving unit to serve as an extension of the parents. Typically, you’ll work Monday-Friday, 8-4, but schedule flexibility is critical. Dad goes on tour for 6-8 weeks every year. When that happens, you’ll work overtime, including overnights and weekends. You’ll know two months in advance to prepare for the upcoming switch. Medically, you must be up-to-date on your flu shot and COVID vaccines. The older son has a potentially deadly tree nut allergy, so epi-pen administration comfort is required (training is available). To help keep the home tidy, you’ll assist with the children’s laundry, vacuuming, sweeping, and meal prep, including occasionally feeding Monkey, the cat. There’s also Franklin, the turtle, but he prefers to order takeout. The family does have a housecleaner who comes weekly, so no deep cleaning would be needed. We connected this family with their previous nanny who stayed with them for FOUR years! The parents’ busy schedules mean that they’ll need help for as long as the kids need childcare. Sure, this is a career-securing position, but it’s also an opportunity to form lifelong bonds as an extended member of a super cool family.
