In our Tempe Arizona location, we manufacture custom quartz for the semiconductor industry. Our Arizona location is temperature controlled and allows for a comfortable working environment. We also offer competitive wages, paid time off, and exceptional benefits.
This position offers training for the following:
- Cutting of glass tubing of specified type, using cutting tools, such as glass saw.
- Using a small lathe, heat glass tubing until pliable, using gas torch, blows, bends, and shapes tubing to specified form, using blow hose, hand tools, fixtures and manual pressure.
- Joining and sealing sub-assemblies to assemble finished product, using gas torch, fixtures and hand tools.
- Perform finishing operations to fabricate glass product or section, using machines and equipment, such as fire polishing, chemical cleaning, and/or sand blasting.
- Measures products to verify dimensions, using but not limited to micrometers, and calipers, and examines glass coloration for degree of internal stress, using a polariscope, to determine annealing requirements and anneal products using a high temperature annealing furnace as required.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Interest in the processes of production glassblowing
- Related experience or course work not required
