Job Summary:

The primary role of this entry-level position is to work under the direction of the Yard Crew Leader and Shipping & Logistics Manager as a crew member. As a Ground Man, you are responsible for loading, unloading and shipping of Precast concrete units.

Essential Functions:
1. Follow all Company Safety Policies and Procedures as well as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and guidelines. Support business activities, objectives, and programs.
2. Arrive to work at time scheduled. Upon start of work be prepared with proper PPE.
3. Punch in at time clocks to the appropriate job and product that you will be working on.
4. Work in a hands-on construction environment.
5. Help prepare/stage materials, tools for next day to maintain efficient workflow. Inform Crew Leader of missing materials or information to avoid stoppage.
6. Follow Crew Leader’s instruction to maintain a steady workflow throughout the day.
7. Communicate using two-way radios and hand signals.
8. Maintain proper care of tools and equipment.
9. Climb ladders and work at elevations while maintaining safe work practices.
10. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
11. Ability to meet established deadlines.
12. Check-in and out with Crew Leader before leaving work/leaving work area for any reason.
13. Notify Crew Leader of any upcoming scheduled time off, appointments, etc.

Requirements, Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED, preferred
• Proficient verbal and written English
• Legal right to work in the U.S.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:
Heavy work that includes moving objects up to 50 lb. or more. This position works on or near moving mechanical parts and loud equipment. Requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time as well as lifting, pulling, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, walking, reaching, driving, and repetitive motion.
