General Summary of Position
The Guest Relations Associate provides customer service and hospitality to patients and visitors in all areas of the facility. Interfaces with patients, visitors, and all levels of associates. Assists visitors in signing in, issues badges, offers directions, and escorts them if needed. Provides coverage of switchboard and responsible for assigned clerical support tasks. May be assigned special projects as needed to include data entry into existing databases and creation of new spreadsheets and databases.
Minimum Qualifications
Education

  • High School Diploma or GED Required

Experience

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting or knowledge of medical terminology Preferred and
  • Previous customer service experience Preferred

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
  • Greet all patients/visitors entering the hospital providing information and directions as needed.
  • Complies with patient security and confidentiality guidelines. Assists with facilitation of visitation policy.
  • Obtains wheelchair as needed for incoming patients, transports patients via wheelchair as needed.
  • Utilizes Patient Information screen on HIS to obtain location of patient/room assignment within the hospital.
  • Utilizes FirstNet to obtain information that can be shared with patient/family members/visitors. Keeps patients/families informed of delays.
  • Performs Quick Registration of patients to HIS. Communicates with charge/triage nurse to keep patients/families updated.
  • Develops innovative ways of providing information to patients, families and visitors.
  • Maintains an organized and clean service waiting area. Maintains an organized work station.

Pay: $17.00 - $17.71 per hour
