Summary: The Host(ess) presents a positive first impression of the establishment’s friendliness, excellent service, and high standards. This person also greets guests upon arrival, informs guests of their wait time, monitors a waiting list, enters guest’s names into the computer system, shows guests to their table, and bids guests farewell as they exit the property.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides quality guest service and promotes and markets the hotel and restaurant
• Consistently delivers exceptional service to guests while entertaining in a professional manner in accordance with the Company’s brand expectations
• Models Shuckers apparel and accessories while greeting guests, and maintains an appearance consistent with the Company’s brand expectations
• Interacts and entertains guests in a cordial and gracious manner, thereby creating a memorable experience and building guest loyalty
• Serves as a Brand Ambassador for Shuckers, using the finesse and good judgment
• Meets or exceeds quality service standards according to the Company’s outlined expectations
• Delivers an enthusiastic, professional greeting to guests upon arrival and departure
• Answers phone calls in a professional, outgoing and upbeat manner; directs call accordingly
• Takes to-go phone orders from guests, following the outlined procedures
• Inputs orders to the point of sale system, and reconciles payments for to-go orders
• Checks age verification of any guest appearing under 40 years of age during designated times, pertaining to the sale of alcohol
• Ensures area around entrances is clean, safe, and secure
• Notifies management of any suspicious and/or dangerous situations
• Builds relationships with guests that add value to the guest experience
• Actively asks for feedback from guests
• Is knowledgeable and helpful about the local area, the hotel, and the hotel services
• Maintains and ensures compliance with all policies and procedures at all time

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 18 years of age; High school diploma preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Consistently maintains a well-groomed appearance, posture, and hygiene as deemed by management
• Appearance and style is aligned with current fashion standards and trends as deemed by management and consistent with Shuckers brand
• An outgoing personality is warm and friendly; demonstrates enthusiasm and professionalism, effective listening skills, strong judgment
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to verbally communicate and take direction
• Ability to multi-task in high volume and fast-paced work environment
• Ability to remain calm in high-stress situations

Working Conditions:

• Work requires days, evenings, weekends, and holiday hours
• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length
• Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. on occasion
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning/inspection tasks
• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity
• Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception
• Talking and hearing occur continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception
• Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment
