Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Maintenance Technician to join our exceptional team at a competitive pay rate ($14-18/HR) including benefits (PTO, Vacation, Holiday and Health Insurance) for Full-Time associates.

The Maintenance Technician’s responsibilities include but are not limited to ensuring that the property is maintained in the best possible condition at all times with the least amount of inconvenience to guests and employees. The Maintenance Technician performs general guest room & commercial area maintenance and repairs on HVAC; plumbing and electrical equipment, completes preventive maintenance checklists and other maintenance reports, and performs general carpentry; tiling; painting and wall surface repairs.

Essential Functions

  • Prioritize work orders through urgent requests, respond to guest room calls as required
  • Locates and corrects in-room heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) malfunctions, and adjusting HVAC units to include systems control
  • Making systematic checks on all guest room electrical appliances, circuits; being able to repair most in-room
  • Handling all in-house repairs in regards to removing and replacing bathroom tile, painting, repairing wallboard, wall vinyl, carpentry,
  • Checks electrical systems such as refrigeration controls, television sets, and lighting systems, and makes minor repairs
  • Does some basic painting and finishing of furniture and structure
  • Checks and makes minor repairs on general plumbing systems, and fixtures such as pipe lines, toilets and sinks
  • Utilizing basic hand and power tools required for general maintenance
  • Maintaining tools, work spaces and equipment
  • Completing preventive maintenance checklists and other maintenance records.
  • Heavy interaction with all departments of the hotel
  • Adhere to all hotel safety standards
  • Perform other duties and handle projects as assigned by supervisors
  • Assist other departmental craft workers as required
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Respond to guests needs promptly
  • Responds in a courteous manner to guest questions, complaints and requests.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience in a hotel or a related field required.
  • At least one year of experience or training in a hotel or related field.
  • Ability to work flexible working hours that may include nights, holidays and weekends based on business demand.
  • Trade school and/or College course work in related field helpful.
