General Job Description:

The Housekeeping Supervisor assists the Executive Housekeeper Manager in the day to day supervising, directing and assuring the completion of all housekeeping tasks assigned to the housekeeping attendants and house persons. Housekeeping Supervisors are to ensure a high degree of cleanliness throughout the guest rooms and public areas of the hotel. They are responsible for reporting any maintenance deficiencies and handling guests’ requests, and are to maintain complete knowledge of and comply with departmental policies, services, procedures and standards.

Essential Functions

  • Open & Close Department with include create HK boards and designate daily projects to Housekeeping Team.
  • Inspect rooms, complete reports, verify status reports.
  • Report clean suites to hotel front desk and or load into automated property management systems.
  • Check rooms inventory, assign rooms to room/suite attendants.
  • Assist guests when necessary and follow up with any complaints.
  • Ensure all guest requests have been complete and nothing is pending prior to end of your shift.
  • Monitor hk staff and work schedules.
  • Keep up with lost and found items at hk office.
  • Report work order to Maintenance Team.
  • Ensure stock rooms and carts are maintained with proper supplies.
  • Help out with folding when necessary at the Laundry.

Supportive Functions

  • Provide customer service to guests (internally/externally), including information about hotel services, activities, and local attractions.
  • Promote team member loyalty and empowerment.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Engineering/Property Operations the repair and maintenance program as related to guestrooms and public areas.
  • Quarterly linen inventory.

Internal Relationships

  • Reports to Executive Housekeeping Manager
  • External Relationships
  • Regular contact with Guests and other Housekeeping Associates.

Qualifications

  • Read, write and speak English fluently. Knowledge of other languages, especially Spanish is a plus.
  • Knowledge of inventories, scheduling and productivity.
  • High school math level required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other team members verbally and in written form.
  • Ability to inspect multiple rooms per day.
  • Ability to clean rooms, when needed.
  • Physically able to move and / or operate large objects, such as: room attendant’s carts, suite furniture, large bags of linen, vacuum cleaners and boxes of inventory.
  • Ability to follow and enforce all hotel standards, including safety procedures/standards and able to recognize and act in emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate computer.
  • Knowledge of Opera PMS system to open and close HK Department.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • 1-2 years housekeeping supervisory experience in hotel preferred. 4 or more year’s hotel housekeeping experience.
  • Knowledge of Opera ICloud is required or previous experience with Opera PMS system to open and close HK Department.
  • Xenia Software plataform experience will be a plus.
