Housing Specialist- Farmingdale 110 site Job at Halo Network, Inc.
Halo Network is seeking a Housing Specialist for a Countywide program to obtain affordable housing to individuals transitioning from Homeless shelters or institutional settings to the community.
Responsibilities:
1. Identify housing opportunities for individuals who are in need of housing in order to leave a nursing home or Homeless shelter
2. Assist eligible participants through all steps necessary for enrollment, including: filling out housing applications, obtaining household goods and/or support for moving expenses, arranging unit inspections, etc.
3. Maintain a list of available housing in the region, including degree of accessibility, location, proximity to services, and rental costs.
4. Adheres to and enforces program regulations, policies, and procedures. Ensures that all clients are receiving quality services that are in compliance with the program.
5. Assists customers in locating housing within their specified budgets.
6. Provides information, referrals, direct service, and advocacy services for local housing pool
7. Develops and maintains a resource network for referrals as related to the housing; realtors, landlords, housing complexes and local Section 8 offices.
8. Complete Housing Packets and Shelter Supplement Program paperwork.
9. Responsible for collecting and reviewing Housing Logs and informing case managers of any concerns related to documents.
10. Meets with clients to establish goals & action steps towards those goals & to monitor and assess progress.
11. Negotiates with landlords and other service providers to ensure stable housing.
12. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with a diverse population with a wide array of needs and backgrounds.
13. Attend monthly staff meetings and actively participate in monthly one-on-one supervision with supervisor.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour
