Overview

The Human Resources Compliance Officer will be responsible for the routine functions of administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. The Human Resources Compliance Officer will support the Human Resources functions in the areas of interviewing, hiring staff, onboarding, and maintaining employee records and all other areas of Human Resources, as necessary.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities includes the following:

Training and Development

· Manages the implementation of the performance management system that includes performance development plans (PDPs) and employee development programs.

· Establishes an in-house employee training system that addresses company training needs including training needs assessment, new employee orientation or onboarding, management development, production cross-training, the measurement of training impact, and training transfer.

· Conduct New Hire Orientation

· Keeps job descriptions, employment contracts, employment agreements and training materials up to date.

Employee Relations

· Formulates and recommends Human Resources policies and objectives for the company regarding employee relations.

· Partners with management to communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, and laws.

· Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.

· Conducts investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth.

· Monitors and advises managers and supervisors in the progressive discipline system of the company.

· Reviews, guides, and approves management recommendations for disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

Compensation/Payroll

· Manages the payroll process for the company, including inputting new hires into the payroll and timekeeping system, inputting all employee changes into the system, and running the payroll report semi-monthly.

· Manages the company wage and salary structure, pay policies, and oversees the variable pay systems within the company including bonuses and raises.

· Leads competitive market research to establish pay practices and pay bands that help to recruit and retain superior staff.

Benefits

· Manages the development of benefit orientations and other benefits training.

· Recommends changes in benefits offered, especially new benefits aimed at employee satisfaction and retention.

· Manages the Medical, Dental and Vision Plan, assist with plan renewal and communication between broker and employees, open enrollment meetings.

· Manage the Aflac account including enrolling new employees, setting up payroll deductions and removing coverage upon termination of employment.

Law

· Manages the Labor and Industry Claims and program to help contain claim cost lost wages.

· Manages unemployment claims, maintains lower unemployment taxes.

· Assist with the company’s compliance with all existing governmental and labor legal and government reporting requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Department of Labor, worker compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and so forth. Maintains minimal company exposure to lawsuits.

Organizational Development

· Manages and directs a company-wide process of organization development that addresses issues such as succession planning, superior workforce development, key employee retention, organization design, and change management.

· Manages employee communication and feedback through such avenues as company meetings, suggestion programs, employee satisfaction surveys, newsletters, employee focus groups, and one-on-one meetings.

· Identifies and monitors the organization's culture so that it supports the attainment of the company's goals and promotes employee satisfaction’s culture so that it supports the attainment of the company's goals and promotes employee satisfaction.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and see. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; move about the facility. Some light physical effort required to lift or move objects up to 20 lbs.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position and normal workdays are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m; with one hour lunch. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for peak workloads as job duties demand.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a relevant field preferred.

· A minimum of five years of human resource experience preferred.

· Training Experience Required

· SHRM-CP Preferred

· Advance proficiency of MS

· Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook

· Strong understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis

· Extensive knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis and Positive Behavior Support principles

· Able to travel to other LEAPS office branches

· Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.

· Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
