Position: Ice Rink Manager
We are seeking an Ice Rink Manager with ice making experience to join our growing team. This role will have the opportunity to work on several of our ice rinks in and around New York City. The Ice Rink Manager will be integral in the development and production of our ice rinks and will manage day to day operations of one or more rinks in collaboration with our executive management team.
This is a full-time salaried position. The position requires understanding of all aspects of ice rink production and operations. He/She will endeavor to continuously improve the guest experience by providing unparalleled customer service to our guests and partners. Ideal candidates must have solid experience in high volume recreational venue operations.
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Assist with the building and maintenance of ice rinks.
- Drive revenue and profitability.
- Manage and cut costs in all operational areas including labor and operating expenses.
- Hire and schedule rink staff.
- Train and develop rink staff.
- Perform daily walk-through in order to assess staffing, maintenance, cleanliness, and other special needs.
- Maintain atmosphere including music, lighting and temperature levels.
- Uphold and enforce all operating standards.
- Have complete knowledge of all our services and policies.
- Acknowledge, asses and take appropriate course of action on guest complaints with professionalism and in a timely fashion.
- Communicate repair and maintenance problems (building and equipment).
- Identify, address, and document staff disciplinary actions (warnings).
- Recognize, ensure, and maintain quality in all our products and services.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years' experience in a similar capacity.
- Experience and strong understanding of all facets of recreational venue operations and service.
- Understanding of HR practices, policies, and procedures.
- Great interpersonal skills, customer-service oriented, professional, attentive, and cheerful.
- Responsive with proactive follow-through and follow-up.
- Financially minded: understands operational costs and control implementation.
- Ability to think creatively and provide innovative solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with clients and prospects, sponsors and strategic partners.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent leadership skills and management skills.
- Excellent understanding of the company's vision and culture.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Self-motivated entrepreneurial spirit looking to take initiative.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to work on weekends and nights as needed.
- Candidates with car and ability to travel to multiple rinks highly preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $60,000.00 per year
