The Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking an Imaging Technologist 1 position within the Health Services Division. This position is located at the Washington Corrections center located in Shelton, WA. Working hours are M-F from 0700 to 1530.
The Washington Corrections Center (WCC) is a state prison for men, with an operating capacity of 1,268 incarcerated individuals. WCC includes the Reception Center in which all individuals entering the Washington State Prison System must pass through to be permanently assigned to their long-term care facility.

Duties
The Imaging Technologist 1 serves as a member of the DOC Health Services Unit in support of our goal to provide the best, most efficient, and cost-effective health care possible. Emphasis is placed on early identification of health concerns, care for acute and chronic health problems, and preventive care. The Imaging Technologist 1 will Independently perform and assist Physicians, Physician Assistants, and Nurse practitioners, to perform diagnosis imaging and assist in coordinating the operation of imaging laboratories. As the Imaging Technologist 1, key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Completing routine and emergent X-Ray Examinations:
Takes digital x-rays of incarcerated individuals.- Assist health care providers with x-ray interpretation within the scope of AART and WA State Certified Radiologic Technologist.
- Ensure safety precautions are taken by all staff present within the radiology department.
- Assist staff in providing oral and written instructions to incarcerated individuals to prepare them for diagnostic imaging studies.
- Utilize OSHA/WISHA requirement for handling blood and body fluids.
- Travel in a state vehicle to other DOC locations as needed to perform Imaging Tech duties.
- Develop/update necessary forms/procedure manual to assist technologist, health care provider and clerical support.
- Request, receive, and track x-ray films from other institutions.
- Inspect and maintain x-ray equipment; request and arrange service, parts and labor from contracted service companies or reputable vendors; and schedule regular servicing of x-ray equipment.
Qualifications
What we need (Required Qualifications):
Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training in an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school AND registered or eligible for registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

- Tuberculosis (TB) is a priority health issue for DOC employees. The successful candidate may be required to provide valid proof of a baseline TB skin test within 60 days from the date of hire. When positive tests result, further information, testing and treatment will also be required. Employment is not contingent upon test results.
