IFS INDUSTRIES a leading manufacturer of adhesives and polymers has full-time Maintenance Mechanic opportunities. As a Maintenance Mechanic you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing production equipment.

This position requires the ability to periodically be on call to cover non-routine maintenance activities that occur during off hours.

Pay is based on experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Preventive maintenance tasks
• Troubleshooting industrial electric and pneumatic pumps and motors
• Repair and rebuilding of gear pumps and diaphragm pumps from ¾” to 3” sizes
• Changing of mechanical seals in pumps
• Shaft alignment for pumps
• Minor electrical work
• General facility upkeep and routine repairs
• Follow up on work orders
• Must comply with all safety regulations and policies to ensure work is done is a safe manner.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts list.
• Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Proactive maintenance mindset.
• Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic mathematical and computer skills (create and fill out work orders on a web-based system)
• Ability to work independently maintaining high standards.
• Must be able to be on-call for afterhours call in and overtime as needed.
• Technical School certifications a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must wear appropriate PPE as required.
• Unrestricted ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb stairs, ladders and balance.
• Unrestricted ability to use hands and arms.
• Ability to lift, push, pull and/or move 55 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and a wide range of temperatures.
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Noise level is usually loud.
• Will be exposed and working in dusty, unregulated temperature environments.
