Darigold is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic (Night Shift) for our Boise, Idaho dairy manufacturing plant. The Maintenance Mechanic must possess the desire and ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain bulk milk processing and high speed filling and packaging equipment in a thorough and safe manner. What You Will Do

  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by safely performing and completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions
  • Performs diagnostics and provides appropriate repairs as identified.
  • Controls downtime by informing operators of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance
  • As qualified, manages and services the refrigeration system for the plant
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Proficient in process instrumentation including troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and calibration
  • Read, understand and troubleshoot using electrical and system schematics
  • General electrical troubleshooting of 24v, 110v, 220v and 480v systems
  • Documents observations daily, tasking, parts used/needed, and consults with management regarding the maintenance process
  • Will actively and pro-actively participate in all safety training and safety projects as identified.
  • Will actively participates in Continuous Improvement Teams, Projects, and Initiatives
  • Understands process flow theory and plc controllers

What You Bring

  • Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Capable of obtaining and maintaining a current HVAC/Refrigeration license
  • Experience in the maintenance and repair of ammonia cooling systems and other utilities
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated welding skills and ability
  • Min. 3 yrs. exp. in mechanical/electrical maintenance, or instrumentation certificate
  • Highly proficient and experienced in troubleshooting
  • Knowledgeable in the areas of mechanical machinery, steam, boiler, pneumatic & hydraulic operations
  • Read/understand blueprints, electrical schematics and equipment manuals
  • Strong team, verbal, and written skills
  • Sanitary welding experience desirable
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and maintenance tracking systems
  • Ability to stand, walk, and traverse area for extended periods up to 12 hours
  • Ability to frequently climb, balance, and work from ladders
  • Ability to safely and correctly utilize fall arrest equipment
  • Ability to monitor several concurrent processes simultaneously
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds from ground to above shoulder height
  • Ability to gain certification for operation of stand-up and sitdown forklifts, manlifts, and scissor lift.
