L&M is looking for Industrial Painters and/or Paint Assistants to work in our Paint Department that either want to learn how to do industrial painting or have experience. We have openings on our 2nd shift which runs M-F 2pm-10pm and includes a $0.75/hr. shift differential. We have openings for both rotating and midnight shifts.

We are looking for individuals of all skill level. This departments operates our customized wash bay equipment, paint booth, and baking oven while ensuring we meet our customer's paint specifications. This position is a full-time hourly position.

Job Summary: Painting of products, using customer specifications for paint colors. Change paint filters, keep track of paint supplies, letting Supervisor, QC, and Purchasing know what needs to be ordered.

Essential Job Functions:

• Ensure accuracy and quality, following company procedures and specifications.
• Maintain an accurate timekeeping record.
• Report problems to supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Maintain inventory.
• Prepare parts for painting.
• Follow SP for customer product.
• Maintain and clean spray gun.
• Assist in other areas of production as needed if qualified.
• Perform work in a safe manner and follows all safety guidelines and procedure.
• Domestic and international travel required and could include weekend travel depending on the project.
• Perform related work or job duties as required by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required for Entry Level:

• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Ability to use mil thickness gauge.
• Knowledge of painting and spraying.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Ability to communicate, in English, effectively and clearly by both written and verbal means.
• Physical strength sufficient to perform job duties.
• Ability to understand and carry out simple oral and written instructions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Required to wear respirator and PPE uniform.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment written math test, physical, drug and background test.
• Required: High School Diploma or GED with 1- year related work experience.
• Previous painting experience (not painting houses).

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of Epicor or similar ERP system.
Experience in Lean Manufacturing.
