Job Description:
The International Support Case Manager will serve as the DSO (Designated School Official) for SEVIS. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Position will be remote with possibility of on campus office hours.
Responsibilities Include:
- The International Support Case Manager serves as a "Designated School Official" DSO in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) and maintains expertise in F-1 student regulations to ensure institutional compliance.
- Organizes SEVIS data processing under the guidelines provided by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and maintains data and quality control management.
- Provides accurate immigration information to international students, monitors and tracks student immigration status, and maintains appropriate files.
- Main job responsibilities will be checking all deposited graduate student records in university databases and issuing I-20's in SEVIS for all new graduate international students.
- Assists the OIIS staff in advising students with immigration petitions and applications to include processing for new F-1 visas, employment authorizations, reinstatement, and reduced course load authorizations, change of status, and medical leave.
- Participates in training and maintains a relationship with professional organizations to keep abreast of changes in federal rules and regulations.
- Assist the OIIS department with other duties as needed i.e. CPT and OPT applications, registration of students, social security and DMV letter requests.
Requirements:
Knowledge and Skills Needed:
- Requires knowledge of SEVIS and student immigration regulations.
- Proficient in Slate and Terra Dotta preferred.
- Requires the ability to maintain detailed immigration records, perform intricate immigration processing and ensure institutional compliance with student immigration regulations.
- Master's degree preferred or bachelor's degree with commensurate experience.
