Acordis has an immediate opening for IT Suppoort Technician. Provides technical support to users in an efficient and accurate manner. You will be the company’s front line, and solve technical problems and provide support for all assigned areas while maintaining high standards set forth by the company that ensure customer value is not compromised.
Summary/Objective
This position will be responsible for the provisioning, installation, configuration and support/maintenance of customer physical/virtual network infrastructure and internal/external phone system.
Essential Functions

1. Troubleshoots data communication devices, including wireless access points, wireless clients, switches, routers, modems and phone systems with contact center services with appropriate supervision for the purpose of architecting, delivering and maintaining a reliable and stable technology infrastructure appropriate to support the core instructional mission of the district.
2. Prepares documentation for the purpose of providing written technical support and/or conveying information for the purpose of providing exceptional customer service that exceeds their expectations.
3. Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability by leveraging monitoring tools.
4. Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
5. Provide 1st and/or 2nd level support.
6. Liaise with vendor or other IT personnel for problem resolution.
7. Ability to work with end users and other system engineers in daily course of duties.
8. Provide phone, email and in-person support to a wide variety of clients
9. Ability to research resources and methods (e.g., journals, literature, vendor information, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining current working knowledge of new and emerging technologies as well as district/state/federal rules, regulations, and policies for the purpose of architecting, delivering and maintaining a reliable and stable technology infrastructure appropriate to support the core instructional mission of the district.
10. Working knowledge of the following technologies: DHCP; DNS; Routers, switches, firewalls, wireless networks.
Competencies
1. Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting network infrastructure and phone systems.
2. Experience with monitoring systems.
3. Some scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python).
4. Networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP).
5. Experience applying system engineering expertise to support technical decision making.
6. Diagnose, analyze and troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues and situations with critical thinking skills.
7. Daily attendance and punctuality are required for the purpose of ensuring the goals of the work unit can be met.
8. Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient, effective functioning of the work unit.1. Business Acumen.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time in-office position.
Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Travel
Occasional travel is primarily local, during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Required Education and Experience
3 years of experience in the mixed environment of IT field.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Certified network computer technician
- CompTIA+
- Virtualization certifications (VMware, Microsoft, Cisco, etc.)
- Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, Google, etc.)
- A bachelor's degree in Information Systems or Business Administration.
