Hours:

M-F, 8:30am-5:30pm - hours could vary slightly

Experience:

1-year general Custodial experience needed, preferably in a commercial setting

Qualifications:

• A strong work ethic
• The ability to work alone or within a team is a must.
• Effectively uses work order management system.
• Follows OSHA standards and guidelines when performing duties.
• Successfully completes annual OSHA training (online)

Job Duties

• Undergo training and certification to use an industrial floor scrubbing machine as needed.
• Performs daily and periodic custodial and housekeeping tasks in assigned areas and buildings as directed.
• Performs high/low general cleaning for all elements of restrooms, classrooms, lobbies, common areas, office areas, as well as all other building spaces.
• Performs all tasks necessary or essential to maintain the general cleanliness of buildings.
• Restock all restrooms and supply closets.
• Floor and stair care (wet and dry vacuuming, mopping, carpet spotting, polishing, stripping, sealing, using and maintain the floor cleaning machine, as well as other tasks necessary or essential to maintain floors)
• Surface care (dusting, sanitizing, glass/mirror/window cleaning, metal/wood polishing)
• Waste removal (empty trash and recycle bins, transport trash and waste to proper disposal areas)
• Other general cleaning duties as instructed by supervisor.
• Light maintenance (replace light bulbs, restock supply cabinet/room)
• Transports cleaning supplies and tools between Facilities and assigned buildings.
• Promptly respond to all maintenance calls and attend to spills, breaks or other accidents.
• Assist in the movement and relocation of furniture and equipment as needed.
• Maintains a neat and orderly work area, including janitorial closets and storage areas.
• Maintains cleaning equipment in good working condition and notifies the Maintenance Supervisor if repair or replacement is necessary.
• Observe, identify, and report any potential safety hazards to the Facilities Manager for resolution.
• Notifies management about problems or opportunities that affect service to the company.
• Performs all cleaning assignments in accordance with company's approved procedures.
• Works safely at all times and promptly informs management about unsafe conditions existing in the work area.
• Wears personal protective equipment appropriate for the task being performed.
• Meets all of the company's quality expectations in assigned tasks.
• Assists in orientation and training for new custodial employees as directed.
• Adheres to proper security procedures.

• Must pass a pre-employment background screening and drug test
• Reliable transportation
• High school diploma or GED
• ITAR Compliant once employed
• At least 1 year of Custodial experience

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously for extended periods of time.
• Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
• Ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
• Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects that may be 35+ pounds repetitively.
• Ability to see and hear details in order to identify and diagnose problems.
