Responsibilities

· Provide specialist desktop research and analysis of public records, social media, and open source information in support of trademark investigations and other intellectual property cases. Additional research may include background investigations, due diligence investigations, and cyber investigations.

· Produce reports that are accurate and clearly summarize information from multiple sources into concise, analytical assessments.

· With access to thousands of public and private databases, open-source and specialized resources, the Investigative Analyst will need to understand how to use them efficiently, participate in training, and keep up with changes. Examples of databases include, but are not limited to, LexisNexis, TLO, CLEAR, Factiva, or similar.

· On occasion, make trips to the post office to pick up or drop off products related to your investigation.

· Support a high-performance environment with regular and professional communications to your team, clients, and external partners.

· Proactively engage in all assignments with a strong work ethic and transparent work standard aligning with the company values.

· Managing deadlines, prioritizing workloads, and working well under pressure.

· Participate in professional development opportunities constantly and assertively to expand industry knowledge base and keep abreast of emerging trends, as well as new analytical tools and techniques.

· Actively identify and develop sources of information, including, but not limited to, the Internet, databases, and public records.

· Work on special team projects in writing such as whitepapers and blogs and business development.

Required Qualifications

· Must be within commuting distance to our office in Wanaque, NJ. This is an in office position.

· Baccalaureate degree or comparable experience.

· One to two years of experience preparing written investigative reports. Prior experience conducting trademark research is a plus, but is not required. Paralegals encouraged to apply!

· Experience conducting research on social media and online databases. Experience with LexisNexis, TLO, Factiva or similar is a plus.

· Extremely strong writing skills, including the ability to summarize information quickly and effectively from multiple sources into concise, analytical assessments.

· Strong communication skills with both colleagues and clients.

· Ability to focus and pay attention to detail.

· Proactive with an inquisitive, analytical/investigative mind.

· High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word and Outlook.

· Casual office environment with dogs (brand new office!). This is an in office position, with flexibility to work from home as needed on occasion after training.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
