Lifeguard-Kamp Lenape/Seasonal

KSI is hiring Lifeguard’s for the 2023 camp season. Spend your summer in the sun providing an experience for youths with disabilities to lead a more enriched summer.

GENERAL INFORMATION: Work schedule is M-F 8:00am - 4:00pm. No nights nor weekends. The Lifeguard Position reports to the Camp Director. This position has a compensation rate starting at $11.75 per hour.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Primary responsibility is to ensure staff/camper’s safety of the pool and pool deck areas. Must have a positive attitude and pay attention to detail. Maintain the pool area to include supplies and chemicals.

SKILL REQUIRMENTS: Must be able to respond to potential cases of drowning, enforce safety rules, and respond to other medical emergencies pertaining to staff/campers. Must be able to possess lifesaving skills using CPR and First-Aid in case of emergency.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Accomplished swimmer must have the physical fitness level required to handle the position.
According to The Red Cross guidelines, lifeguard must be able to swim 50 yards without stopping for shallow-water or
300 yards without stopping for deep-water.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 15 years of age. Must provide a lifeguard certificate, certified by The Red Cross. Must be able to pass a Criminal Background check, Adult Abuse Registry check, Child Abuse Registry check, Sex Offender Listing check, and drug screening. Must have or be able to obtain a valid Delaware Driver’s License (16 years of age) and have no more than two moving violations at the time of hire. Must demonstrate a positive attitude, have excellent communication skills and be willing to be part of a team.
