The Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC) at Adath Israel serves families with young toddlers through kindergarten, offering both part-time and full-time childcare options Our ECLC is a unique place for fun, socialization, skill development, and hands-on, play-based learning for young children. Every child is encouraged to explore, create, share, and learn at their own pace. Integrated into our program is the development of the child’s awareness of our Jewish heritage and values. We are seeking both Lead and Assistant Teachers for the 2023-2024 school year!

Lead Teachers:

Job Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

• Develop and lead all classroom activities
• Collaborate with other lead and assistant teachers
• Care for and foster the social, emotional, physical, cognitive and language development of all students
• Facilitate cooperative and imaginative play
• Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and health of all children in the school
• Attend all staff meetings
• Write weekly newsletters to parents
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director
• Punctuality and good attendance are a must

Required:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in education or a related human service field OR Associate Degree plus from an accredited college or university, plus four years successful, post-degree teaching experience in early childhood education OR Current Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential
• Experience in working in a school or childcare center
• Ability to pass a full background check
• Two letters of recommendation based on early childhood experience

Preferred:

Knowledge of Jewish religion, customs and holidays strongly preferred

Starting salary begins at: $20 per hour, plus sick/paid time off. Health and Dental insurance available. Paid time off, availability to work in summer (optional).

Assistant Teachers:

Job Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

• Assist the lead teacher in the implementation of the teaching and learning activities
• Assisting with lunch, classroom and toy disinfecting as needed.
• Help the teacher to design plans to meet the individual needs of each child

Required:

• High School Diploma
• Experience in working in a school or childcare center
• Ability to pass a full background check
• Two letters of recommendation based on early childhood experience
• Ability to work collaboratively in a child centered environment
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director
• Punctuality and good attendance are a must
• Starting salary begins at: $17 per hour, plus sick/paid time off. Health and Dental insurance available. Paid time off, availability to work in summer (optional).

Both positions REQUIRE:

• Pass the Pennsylvania background screening (PA State Police, PA Child Abuse, FBI Fingerprinting, National Sex Offender Registry
• Proof of Covid Vaccine
• Flu vaccine will be required once they become available in early fall
• Participate in all Teacher-In Service/Professional Development dates
• Documented experience working with children in an early childhood environment
• Basic computer skills (internet, documentation, family correspondence)
• Ability to co-teach and collaborate with a teaching team
