Position Summary
The Leadership Gifts Officer will spend most of their time in direct interaction with donors and potential donors, both in and out of the office. This person will manage, nurture, and enhance relationships, with an individual portfolio of 100-125 prospects, to improve the probability of continued and increased support of Wayland Academy. The Leadership Gifts Officer reports directly to the Director of Advancement and does not supervise other staff.

Responsibilities
  • Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward leadership annual giving of $1,000 or more
  • Work with the Director of Advancement and other Wayland representatives to develop targeted strategies that will accelerate philanthropic growth
  • Promote positive donor relations and stewardship
  • Actively maintain a current body of knowledge about Wayland’s programs, aspirations, and development priorities
  • Attend key Wayland events which would include some evening and weekend work
  • Travel domestically 10 or more business days a month to actively manage regular face-to-face meetings and outreach with prospects
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Prefer a minimum of 1-3 years demonstrated fundraising success in a non-profit or educational setting, or related experience
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of CRMs and Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to work autonomously, solve problems, handle confidential information, and navigate sensitive situations
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
