JOB FUNCTION

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for all prescribed treatments and nursing treatments.
  • Properly sets up, administers and records treatments
  • Checks treatment orders ensure documentation is complete on all documents.
  • Makes at least weekly detailed charting evaluation so chart reflects progress and condition of area treated, tolerance of feeding, etc.
• Responsible to organize and monitor resident care.
  • Gives and receives complete report on residents to nursing personnel.
  • Monitors resident conditions and makes recommendations.
  • Makes rounds of all residents to ensure needs are met and care is given.
  • Orders medication and receives medication and records them properly and accurately.
• Performs nursing procedures and related functions.
  • Notifies supervisor and calls physician for change in condition and advice in resident care.
  • In the event of a change in condition, notifies the resident, physician, family/legal representative and clergy.
  • Arranges doctors visits or clinic appointments as necessary.
  • Responsible for daily and weekly charting.
  • Arrange transfers to hospital as needed.
  • Counts narcotics at beginning and end of shift and reports any irregularities to supervisor.
  • Responds to emergencies at the apartments as needed.
  • Assists new nursing personnel to learn procedures, policies, and concepts of care.
  • Recommends disciplinary action according to policy, as needed.
  • Assumes duties if Nursing Supervisor, if an RN, as needed. LPN, with no RN on duty, monitors resident care and calls the RN on call as needed.
  • Performs daily weight and Blood pressure checks.
  • Assists with feeding of residents as needed.
• Must respond to emergencies.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of all fire, safety, and weather procedures.
  • Directs staff with correct procedures and notifies assigned personnel in the case of emergency.
  • Responds or assigns licensed personnel to answer emergency calls from all apartment buildings.
• Performs resident care as needed.
  • Uses correct medical asepsis.
  • Prevents hazards of immobility.
  • Provides for resident protection.
  • Assists residents with basic personal care and special care.
  • Assists in providing nutrition and fluid.
  • Assists residents with elimination needs.
  • Provides activity and exercise for residents.
  • Assists residents in dealing with psychosocial needs.
  • Properly documents for assigned residents.
  • Assists staff nurse in resident cares.
• Attends nursing meetings as scheduled.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be a professional nurse currently licensed in the State of Minnesota
