Job Summary:

As the logistics expeditor for Customer Support, you'll strategize, converge, and adapt with cross-functional teams to deliver a just-in-time customer experience. In addition to being reactive to urgent order request, you will be proactive in executing backorder reports, order management when customer requirements change, and trending reports. In this internally based role, you will be responsible for managing a large email database through Outlook that are converted into Expediting Share-point entries that tracks workflow volume. This position can be in El Segundo, CA or Auburn, MA.
Essential Functions:
  • Level of accountability: Occasional oversight
  • Level of decision making: Limited variety of tasks
  • Has interactions with Onsite and Field Services, Field Sales, Logistics and CS team members
  • Financial/Budgetary: Little or no financial impact on revenues or cost
  • Supervision: Does not supervise others
  • Physical Requirements: Light, occasional physical effort
  • Travel: Up to 5% Travel during the year
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Works directly with Auburn Logistics, Buyers/Planners, Marketing, Sales Executives, Repair and Onsite Services, Customer Support Staff, affiliate companies.
  • Manages sales personnel's inquiries regarding customer orders, availability of equipment, etc.
  • Works closely with Regulatory, Purchasing, Marketing and the Logistic center to understand changes to product and order configuration and coordinates all actions with Customer Support
  • Provides expediting services on priority requests and ETAs on back-ordered items
  • Conducts situational research for customer problem resolution.
  • Responsible for managing the Expeditor phone and email queues.
  • Stays current on promotions, procedures, policies, product updates and system changes: proactively inform sales executives on new information.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by supporting customer support team members with their Order Management and Sales Executives with their priority requests and order issues


Qualifications:
  • A minimum education level of a Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of experience.
  • Possess exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Able to work overtime to perform job responsibilities; must be punctual, able to sustain attendance guidelines, and work hours as assigned; office environment.
  • Decision-Making Skills - this position requires a responsive individual, who listens to, understands, and responds quickly and decisively and has the commitment to execute an action plan.
  • Critical Thinking - This position requires an individual to incorporate their previous material experience with their interpersonal skills and incorporate honesty, integrity and respect for co-workers into their everyday interactions at KARL STORZ.

  • Communication - This position requires an individual with excellent communication and collaborative skills.

  • "Strong" product knowledge, understanding of KSEA resources and excellent problem-solving skills are required.
  • The ability to prioritize work is key. Good business writing skills are required. Ability to consistently handle all customers (internal and external) in a professional, courteous manner is critical.
  • The ability to read, interpret and understand (for the purposes of providing customers with appropriate information) documents, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals is required.
  • The ability to locate technical information efficiently when working with customers on the telephone is required.
  • The ability to effectively use computer systems, including the Company's quote systems, is required.
  • The ability to use general office equipment, including telephone, copier, fax, etc., is required.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of purchasing process in order to deal with buyers and some vendors.
  • Excellent skills in Excel, Visio (or any flowchart program), and Word. Must have an extensive experience on an ERP system (SAP preferred) in the Sales and Distribution, and Service Management Modules.
