Leer South is looking for a Longwall Shield Operator to join our successful team in Philippi, West Virginia.
Job Title: Longwall Shield Operator
Grade: $33.00/hour
Job Location: Sentinel/Leer South Mining Complex (Philippi, WV)
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Operate all functions on Shield
- Responsible for maintenance on the face
- Responsible for maintenance on the Shield
- Assist Shearer operator with maintenance on Shearer
- Ability to position roof supports
MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of three years of underground mining experience
- Experience as a production operator in Longwall coal mining
- Demonstrated ability to follow safe work procedures and inspection procedures
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Record of good work attendance and punctuality
- WV underground certification required
